Replacement Windows and Doors Across East London, North London and Essex
Modern UPVC, aluminium and composite windows and doors installed by FNB Roofing And Building — improving thermal performance, security and kerb appeal across East London, North London and Essex.
WHY REPLACE RATHER THAN REPAIR
The case for new windows and doors.
Failing windows and doors quietly undermine the performance of a property in several directions at once — heat loss, draughts, condensation between panes, security weakness and water ingress around poorly sealed frames. Repairs to original timber windows or older UPVC units can extend their service life by a few years, but the law of diminishing returns sets in quickly.
Original single-glazed sash windows lose heat at roughly five times the rate of modern A-rated double glazing. Older UPVC frames installed in the 1990s and early 2000s often used standard four-chamber profiles that are now significantly outperformed by current six-chamber thermally broken systems. Where ongoing repair costs are approaching the level of replacement — or where energy bills are visibly affected by draughty frames — replacement is consistently the more economical long-term option.
Window & Door Services We Provide
From individual replacement units through to full-house installations — every product is fitted by our own installers and supplied with certification under the appropriate competent person scheme.
WINDOWS
Aluminium Windows
Slimmer sightlines and a more contemporary appearance than UPVC, with high strength and a service life of 40 years or more. Particularly suited to large openings, bay windows and modern extensions.
WINDOWS
Bay & Bow Windows
Replacement of original timber or older UPVC bays, with full structural support where required. The cill, mullions and load path are checked and reinforced as part of the works.
UPVC & Composite Doors
Front and back doors in UPVC or composite — a multi-layered construction combining a solid core with a UPVC or GRP skin. Multi-point locking, anti-snap cylinders and toughened safety glass fitted as standard, with a wide range of styles, colours and decorative glazing options.
French, Patio & Bi-Fold Doors
Full-height sliding, French and bi-fold door installations for rear extensions, garden rooms and side returns. Used to open a kitchen or living room directly onto the garden, with thermally broken aluminium options available for larger spans.
Window & Door Repairs
Where full replacement is not yet warranted, repairs are available for failed locks, broken handles, misted double-glazed units, sagging hinges, perished seals and dropped doors.
SECURITY, INSULATION & COMPLIANCE
A-rated glazing. Certified installation.
All windows and doors supplied are fitted with multi-point locking systems and toughened safety glass where required by Building Regulations. UPVC and composite products carry A or A+ Window Energy Ratings as standard, contributing meaningfully to lower heating costs and reduced condensation.
Replacement window and door installations are notifiable works under Building Regulations, and certification is arranged accordingly through the appropriate competent person scheme — providing the client with the necessary documentation for any future property sale.
How a Typical Window & Door Project Is Delivered
Most window and door projects follow a clear four-stage process, designed to keep you fully informed from initial survey through to certification and handover.
01
Survey and Specification
A site visit is arranged at a convenient time. Each opening is measured accurately, the existing frame condition is recorded, and you are talked through the available styles, finishes, colours and glazing options.
02
Itemised Written Quotation
A written quotation is issued covering the products specified, glazing, locking systems, any associated cill, lintel or reveal work, certification fees and labour. Each item is priced separately for like-for-like comparison.
03
Manufacture and Installation
Units are manufactured to the measured sizes — typically a four to six week lead time. Installation is carried out by our own fitters, with existing frames removed cleanly and surrounding areas reinstated as required.
04
Sign-Off, Certification & Guarantee
A final inspection is carried out with the client. Certification documentation is issued. Workmanship is guaranteed in writing, and manufacturer warranties run between 10 and 25 years depending on product.
From a single replacement unit to a full-house installation — every project is handled with the same care, by the same team that quoted it.
5-Star Reviewed
Verifiable independent reviews on Google and Trustatrader. The majority of our work comes through word-of-mouth referrals.

Are quotes free, and is there any obligation?
Yes — quotes are completely free. There is no charge for the site visit, no obligation to proceed, and no follow-up sales pressure. Most window and door projects can be priced within a few working days of the initial survey.
What lead times can I expect?
Manufacturing lead times typically run between four and six weeks from order, depending on the supplier and product range. Installation itself can usually be completed in one to three days for a standard property, longer for full-house installations or aluminium bi-fold systems.

What guarantees apply to the windows and doors?
Workmanship is guaranteed in writing by us. In addition, the manufacturer warranties on the products themselves typically run between 10 and 25 years depending on the range — covering frames, glazing units, locking mechanisms and hardware.
Are you insured?
Every project is backed by £1 million of public liability insurance as standard, ensuring full cover for the property, our workforce and any third parties present during the works.
Is the installation subcontracted?
No. Every installation is carried out by our own fitters. That keeps the standard consistent and means there is no dispute over responsibility if something needs revisiting.
